Fourth Class : Investigating Slopes
We in Fourth Class decided to investigate slopes. We asked our caretaker to cut a tube in half that we got from Recreate . We used Math's books as a measurement for the slope. We used 3, 5, 8, 12,15 and 20 books. We let the toy car go at the top of the slope.
We measured how far the car travelled in cm using metre sticks.
We recorded our findings on the table below.
We came up with the conclusion that the higher the slope ( the more Math's books we used) the further the car went.
We drew bar charts to represent our findings.
Fourth Class: Investigating balancing points
We carried out an investigation into Balancing Points. We first had to colour our clown template.
We then had to cut the clown out very carefully using a scissors.
We attached two coins of equal size and weight to the clowns hands and look how well they balanced on our fingers! We found that the correct balancing point was the clown's nose

Fifth Class: Making Bird Feeders
Mr Breathnach's class made some bird feeders. They used recycled bottles from REcreate.
"We had to carefully pierce a hole in either side of the bottle. We then had to feed the straw through ( that was the tricky part!) we then had to make a larger hole so the birds could get at the feed.We filled our feeder with bird seed. Attached the lid and then used string to hang the feeder from a tree"
